In accordance with the process of transformation of education in the world, the scientific Project aims to develop a scientific rationale and methodological concept of blended learning in higher education, to develop and test the technological model and instructional design of blended learning based on the integration of digital learning technologies.
The analysis of the works of researchers in the world and in the country has shown that the great potential of constantly renewing digital educational technologies is not sufficiently used in blended learning in modern conditions. In addition, analysis of the transformation process of learning during and after the pandemic has revealed insufficient didactic and technological rationale for blended learning, summarising the potential of traditional and distance learning in educational institutions.
Rethinking traditional learning to meet the demands of the digital age, exploring the opportunities and contradictions of online learning leads to a deeper study of blended learning. The implementation of the research tasks is based on the study of the literature at the intersection of pedagogy and psychology, information technologies and technical sciences; methods of comparative analysis, modelling, synthesis. As a methodology of research will be implemented interdisciplinary, systemic, activity, synergetic approaches, project methods, didactics of blended learning, analyzing the results of the experiment and summarizing its results, comparing, differentiation of digital resources in education. Methodology for assessing the formation of general and professional competencies of students as a result of blended learning will be implemented through the development of tools for measuring the expected competencies.
The results of earlier researches revealed the lack of resources capable of linking online and offline learning, the need to develop blended learning design using digital communication in learning. In accordance with this, the expected result of the scientific Project is defined as the creation, testing and implementation in practice of instructional design of blended learning by integrating digital resources of education with the justification of scientific, methodological concept containing the didactic potential of digital technologies.
The instructional design of blended learning combines theory and practice, it is on the one hand a model of educational transformation, and on the other hand, it performs an interdisciplinary function in the digital space. Its structural and content model forms a holistic blended learning system consisting of principles, algorithm, content objectives, methods and techniques, resources and technologies to ensure the achievement of expected results. The management module of the proposed structure organizes the educational process, the training module provides for asynchronous and synchronous communication services in the digital environment, the content module provides for the placement of library, audio and video resources.
The work on the creation of technological model of blended learning, experience in the development of design of scientific and technological products, the implementation of joint projects with partner organizations will increase the scientific and technical potential of the university. The organization of research work on scientific-methodological, methodological justification, approbation and implementation of instructional design of blended learning in the educational process will increase the scientific and methodological level of the university. The implementation of instructional design of blended learning in the educational practice, constant methodical seminars and conferences, with the participation of domestic and foreign researchers, scientists and university professors, students and graduates, school teachers, creation of methodical portal will enable the university to become a scientific-practical centre of blended learning in the country. These innovations constitute the practical significance of the project.
The involvement of undergraduate and graduate students and young applicants in scientific research, the publication of research results in authoritative scientific journals, the publication of monographs, and the acquisition of copyrights and patents will enhance the level of the university's scientific staff.
In addition, with the introduction of interdisciplinary elective courses in methodology and technology of new mixed learning design will expand the level of academic excellence of educational programmes of the university, the acquired skills of organizing mixed learning design and other interdisciplinary competencies of students will contribute to providing educational organizations in West Kazakhstan region and the whole country with competitive specialists. As a result of the project implementation it is expected to prepare future specialists possessing interdisciplinary experience of instructional design and use of digital technologies in solving urgent tasks of education transformation in the country.
